Jane & Gavin’s Southsea Castle Wedding in Portsmouth
Second wedding of the season and my-oh-my was it a good one.
With a brief that went something like “it’s all really grey and moody, so just do your thing and make it edgy” – I knew I was in for something pretty special.
We started the day at The Queens Hotel in Portsmouth where Jane was getting ready. There’s definitely somewhat of a Wes Anderson vibe going on with this building, which definitely satisfies my eyeballs.
The room was awesome. Beautiful colour tones and an enormous window that just made everything look incredible!
We then ventured over to see the man himself, Gavin, at St Ann’s Chapel – which is nestled in the middle of Her Majesty’s Naval Base in Portsmouth. This place is amazing! If only we had a chance to wander around for an enormous photo session.
We grabbed a few photos in the gardens before making our merry way over to Southsea Castle for the wedding reception. Grey walls, straight lines and lots of moody light meant for a huge amount of fun.
What a wedding! Big up for having me guys and enjoy your honeymoon in The Galápagos! Maybe we’ll bump into each other at the airport…(I’m flying to Korea from the same airport terminal that morning).
Spooky.
WOW…!!! Stuart great story and those wedding dress shots…uuuuu superb.
Thank you so much Bart! Totally lucked out with those dress shots. That dresser just looked amazing and the light was so crazy!
How beautiful! I love the quality of light you created during the bridal prep!
Thank you so much Anna – amazing what you can do by just asking to move closer to the massive window!
Awesome work Stuart. I love your editing, warm and clean.
Cheers Marek, really means a lot! I used to edit so cold but everything is just getting warmer and warmer!
Beautiful work, really used the available light well.
Thanks so much Tommy! Means a lot <3
Really nice work Stuart – I particularly like the shot of the bride and her father in the car! Very touching.
Aw thanks so much Albert. Had to ditch all of my roller cases to run and grab that one before they drove off!
Stunning set! I love the close-ups of the bride and detail shots! Well done!
Thank you so much Aga. I love a good bride prep sesh!
