What a double whammy weekend this was.

Not only did we get to celebrate a Hindu wedding at Boreham House in Essex, but also kick start the weekend with a traditional Sikh wedding at Gurdwara Singh Sabha in Barking. It was also hot hot hot, so I felt for Natasha and Gurmiel having to wear a few too many layers through the chaos of each day.

We started off the Saturday with the Sikh celebration, which took place at the Gurdwara and then back at the family home for games and celebration into the night. The colours and decoration were stunning, and everyone came wearing their best. There were certainly a few tears and a whole load of laughter, which definitely got the weekend started on the right foot.

On the Sunday, we were at Boreham House where Natasha was getting ready in the cottage and Gurmiel was down the road in a hotel before his grand entrance. I’ve photographed loads of Asian weddings but can’t quite get enough of dhol drummers doing their thing, it just gets the rhythm going in ways that nothing else can.

The couple had an outdoor Hindu ceremony on the lawn at Boreham House, which was a bit toasty for everyone but that didn’t stop every from getting involved as they should. We then had bags of time for photos before everyone got ready for the reception in the evening.

After a quick change, it was straight back to it. We took a few more photos before the night really took off, as I knew I’d never be able to drag Natasha and Gurmiel off the dance floor once they got going.

And get going they did, this was one of the liveliest dance floors I’ve seen in a while. Absolute mayhem.
