Second time at the gorgeous Villa Bologna in Malta, and for what I expect to not be the last. We met up a few months earlier down in sunny Lulworth in Dorset for a pre-wedding shoot to get to know each other and capture some magic, so we were basically best buds by the time we met up again in Malta. 

The day started at the Xara Palace Hotel in Mdina where the girls were getting ready. Now this is a stunning hotel, but the walled city it’s nestled in is something else altogether. Could spend days walking around the streets and still not have seen everything.

Once ready, I whizzed off ahead down to Villa Bologna to catch the guys sorting themselves out and greeting guests. The beauty of destination weddings is that everyone is in holiday mode, so there’s always something just that little bit special about them and the mood. Lucy and Jack’s wedding was certainly no different.

The ceremony was outside in the beaming sun and with the stunning backdrop at the venue. We then took shelter in the shade cast by the trees to cool off with some drinks and canapés, served by Corinthia catering. Wed Our Way certainly know how to run a wedding, the decoration and schedule never missed a beat.

We had plenty of time for photos, and having done a pre-wedding shoot already, Lucy and Jack already knew their way around the camera and settled right into it. With such a gorgeous venue on so much land, it meant we had loads of space to explore too!

After a few more photos and one of the most stunning sunsets I’ve ever seen, it was party time. And when I say party time, I really do mean it. This was one of the most fun dance floors of the season. I didn’t even know where to point my camera next as the chaos unfolded in front of the lens. 

Bright and early the next morning, we headed on a boat trip to detox and try and rid the hangovers. Diving into the Mediterranean and swimming amongst the jellyfish with such a great crowd was certainly a way to round off the trip.
